We are thrilled to announce that Stefanos Kladakis is our Speaker of the Month at The Webinar Vet. With an illustrious career spanning both military and private veterinary practice, Stefanos brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our community. His dedication to the field of veterinary medicine is evident in his contributions as a surgeon, educator, and leader within the global veterinary community.

A Distinguished Career in Veterinary Medicine

Stefanos graduated in 1995 from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and the Corps Officers Military Academy. He went on to pursue advanced studies in small animal medicine and surgery both in Greece and the USA. For over two decades, Stefanos has served as an officer in the Hellenic Army Veterinary Corps, working in various prestigious roles. He has been a consultant, director of veterinary clinics, and until recently the Director of the Military Working Dogs Department at C’ Army Veterinary Hospital in Thessaloniki.

Outside of his military service, Stefanos also works as an independent referral surgeon, collaborating with small animal practices and hospitals across Greece and abroad. He is currently the Clinical Director and Head of Surgery of Plakentia Veterinary Clinic of Thessaloniki. His passion for surgery has driven him to continuously push the boundaries of veterinary medicine, both in practice and education.

An Accomplished Educator and Leader

Stefanos’ contributions to veterinary science extend far beyond the operating room. With 61 published papers in congress proceedings and veterinary journals and 46 speaking engagements at national and international conferences, seminars, webinars, and courses, Stefanos is a respected voice in the veterinary community. His expertise in soft tissue surgery is especially well-regarded, and he has shared his insights on a wide variety of topics, from surgical techniques to the management of complex conditions.

As the President of the Hellenic Companion Animal Veterinary Society (HCAVS) since 2019, Stefanos has been instrumental in shaping the future of veterinary practice in Greece and beyond. He also serves on the board of directors of the HCAVS and is a member of numerous national and international veterinary associations. His leadership in organising and participating in scientific events demonstrates his commitment to advancing the profession.
